Aldi has Brown Onions 1kg for $0.63 this week, which is the cheapest we've seen across all four major stores. Woolies is charging $1.85 for the same bag, and IGA is a jaw-dropping $4.00. With fruit and veg prices up 4.8% in the past year according to the latest ABS CPI figures, a staple this cheap is worth throwing a few bags in the trolley. Brown onions are the base of pretty much every winter soup, pasta sauce, and Sunday roast you'll make between now and spring, so stock up while Aldi's got them this low.
