15. Pricing Data from Retailer Websites
Cuugo collects publicly available pricing and product information from retailer websites for the purpose of providing our grocery price comparison service. This section explains how we collect and handle that data.
What We Collect from Retailer Websites
We collect only the following factual, publicly available data points from retailer websites:
Product names and identifiers (e.g., SKU, barcode)
Current prices and promotional prices
Product availability (in stock / out of stock)
Package sizes and unit pricing
Product categories and brand information
Product images (linked from or sourced from retailer websites)
What We Do Not Collect
No personal information of retailer customers or employees
No login credentials, account data or payment information from any retailer
No data from behind retailer login walls or member-only areas
No substantial reproduction of retailer copyright-protected creative content
How We Use This Data
Pricing data collected from retailer websites is used solely to provide our price comparison service to Australian consumers. We present this data in our own original format, combining and reorganising information from multiple sources to create a unified search and comparison experience. We do not sell, license or share retailer pricing data with third parties.
Retailer Independence
Cuugo operates entirely independently of all retailers whose prices we display. We collect only publicly accessible data. We do not have, and have never had any commercial agreement, data sharing arrangement or affiliation with Woolworths Group, Coles Group, Aldi Stores, IGA, Costco or any other retailer.
The display of retailer names on Cuugo is purely for the purpose of identifying the source of pricing data and directing consumers to the retailer to make their purchases. All purchases are completed directly with the retailer, Cuugo is never a party to any purchase transaction.
