Woolies has loose beetroot at $1.35 each today, 15 cents under Coles and well over a dollar cheaper than Aldi's $2.49. With wholesale vegetable prices running about 22% higher than this time last year, finding loose produce under $1.50 is genuinely worth stopping for. Chuck a couple in the trolley for roasted veg, a quick weeknight salad, or sliced into school lunchboxes, beetroot keeps well in the fridge for up to two weeks so you're not racing to use it. IGA's got a special on too ($1.80, down from $2.25), but if you're already doing a Woolies run, the $1.35 is your best bet.
